MONTHLY FAVORITES: SEPTEMBER 2014

Happy Monday! How are you guys doing today? It's almost October, which means that it's time for a brand new monthly favorites post. September has been a good month. When it comes to beauty products I have been sticking to a lot of the same products as I showed you in my previous favorites post, but I do have a couple of new items that I have been reaching for a lot during the month of September.

Like always, I have included a couple of personal favorites too such as a fashion favorite and a TV show that both Simon and I have been loving! :-)

 ♥ My September Favorites.

♥ Stila Cosmetics One Step Correct Primer, HERE.

One Step Correct by Stila Cosmetics is a color-corrector, brightener and anti-aging skincare serum primer. It contains 3 color-correcting brighteners. Green tone which instantly neutralizes redness and conceals blemishes, a lavender tone which counteracts sallow undertones for a vibrant, energized look and a peach tone which brightens, illuminates and helps diminish the appearance of sun spots.

It looks very pretty and flawless on the skin. It covers skin imperfections very well and it also gives you the glow from within look. It makes the foundation go on a lot smoother, because of the even texture that it creates on the skin. It feels very hydrating and moisturizing on the skin, so it's definitely a great primer for people with dry skin.

♥ Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray, HERE.

I'm head over heels in love with the Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray. It holds my makeup in place while making it look nice and fresh thoughout the day. This is the travel size bottle, which is part of the Sephora Favorites Summerstash set that I ordered from Sephora a while ago. The set is still available online at Sephora's website if you are interested in checking it out. You can find it HERE! :-)

This is the best makeup setting spray that I have tried so far, definitely worth checking out if you are looking for one to try out. I don't have a lot left in the bottle, so I need to order myself a new one ASAP! :-)

♥ Makeup Revolution Lip Geek Lipstick in Totally NOT Boring! HERE

Makeup Revolution's Lip Geek Lipstick in Totally NOT Boring is a pretty deep pinky purple with a cream finish. It's got a nice and creamy texture, which glides on the lips perfectly. Since it's got a very creamy and buttery texture, it only last about 2-3 hours on my lips before I need to re-apply it. I normally don't wear lipstick for more than a couple of hours at a time, so that doesn't really bother me.

The Lip Geek Lipsticks from Makeup Revolution are only £2.99 each, so they are definitely worth checking out if you want good quality but still affordable at the same time. I reviewed the entire Lip Geek Lipstick range from Makeup Revolution a while ago. If you missed that post, you can check it out HERE! :-)

♥ Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara in Black, HERE.

The Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara in Black has been a big favorite of mine for a while now. I have been using it for the entire month of September and I just can't get enough of it. The brush is quite small, which gives you a lot of control over the application. It's not messy to apply nor does it make my lashes feel stiff or look clumpy. It's also easy to remove with a waterproof makeup remover! :-)

♥ Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in 12L, HERE

The Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in 12L is a creamy, long lasting eye liner. 12L is a beautiful, blue with green highlights which makes the eyes really pop and stand out. It last a while on the waterline before it fades away and needs to be re-applied. Before I apply any eye liner, I like to take a cotton swab and run it along my waterline to remove any dirt and oils. I feel like that prevents the eye liner from fading away too soon.

For the past couple of months I have been obsessed with wearing this eye liner on my waterline. I love how it looks paired with a bronzed eye, it just compliments it so well. There are some serious stunning shades in the Aqua Eyes range, I definitely want to try out some more shades now! :-)

♥ Fashion Favorite: Handbag from Zara.

Ever since I was a little girl I have been obsessed with handbags, especially large handbags. This beauty from Zara has been my go-to bag ever since I ordered it from their website a while ago. I love handbags that are big in size, because I usually like to carry my entire life with me in my bag, ha ha. I'm sure most of you girls can relate to this! :-)

This bag may look a little small to you, but it can actually fit a lot of things in it which makes it the perfect every day bag for me. Unfortunately this bag isn't available at Zara anymore, but they do have a bunch of other bags that are just as gorgeous and awesome as this one. You can check out their entire collection of bags HERE! :-)

♥ Favorite TV Show: Breaking Bad - Photo Source HERE

Breaking Bad is one of my all time favorite TV shows. Simon surprised me the complete box set a couple of weeks ago, which made me want to watch it all over again. He haven't seen the show before, so we decided to watch it together. We just started watching season 3, which is one of the best seasons in my opinion.

If you're not familiar with the show, it's about a high school chemistry teacher who turns to a life of crime in order to provide for his family's future. The show is so well done and all the actors are fantastic! I highly recommend that you check it out on Netflix if you haven't watched it yet. It's very additive though, so don't blame me if you can't stop watching it! :-)

FIVE MOST USED: LIPSTICKS

Today, I have another ''Five Most Used'' post to share with you and this one is going to be centered around some of my all time favorite lipsticks. Most of these are from the drugstore, but there is also a high-end lipstick thrown into the mix. It's one of my favorites, so I just had to include it! :-)

If you missed my five most used base products post, you can check it out it HERE! :-)

♥ L'Oreal Paris Lipstick in Fairest Nude, Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Mauve, Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie, Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in 08 & YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick in Spicy Pink.

♥ L'Oreal Paris Lipstick in Fairest Nude, Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Mauve, Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie, Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in 08 & YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick in Spicy Pink.

♥ L'Oreal Paris Lipstick in Fairest Nude, HERE

Fairest Nude by L'Oreal Paris is one of my all time favorite lipsticks. I remember falling head over heels in love with it after seeing the lovely Sccastaneda on YouTube rave about it in one of her videos. Thanks to her, I'm addicted to it and I have already gone through a couple tubes of it. It's not too light nor too dark. If you love nude lipsticks, Fairest Nude is definitely a must have! :-)

♥ Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Mauve, HERE.

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Mauve has been a huge favorite of mine for a couple of years now. It's such a pretty pinky mauve. It's nice and creamy, has great pigmentation and it doesn't feel drying on my lips at all. I have been keeping it in my handbag for a while now, it's such a nice everyday kind of shade! :-)

♥ Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie, HERE.

The lip butters from Revlon are some of my favorite lip products from the drugstore. I have managed to collect 8 shades from this range and I'm in love with all of them. One of my favorite is called Berry Smoothie and it's a beautiful berry pink with golden shimmer.

I have been raving about this shade in a couple of my Monthly Favorite posts. I love it and I think it's such a nice color for everyday! :-)

♥ Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in 08, HERE.

The Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in 08 is a beautiful pinky, brown mauve. The formula is infused with black diamonds, which reflects light beautifully. It applies smoothly, has great color payoff and a pleasent scent as well. It doesn't feel drying on the lips, which is perfect if you have dry lips like myself! :-)

♥ YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick in Spicy Pink, HERE.

YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick in Spicy Pink (20) is my favorite lipstick my high-end lipstick drawer. It's a beautiful dusty rose with a slight mauve undertone. It's nice and creamy, it looks very glossy on the lips and it has great pigmentation as well. Everything about this lipstick from YSL is beautiful. If you are going to splurge on a lipstick, these are definitely a great choice! :-)

There is no denying that I have a thing for drugstore lipsticks. My entire lipstick collection consist of mostly drugstore lipsticks. There are so many affordable, great quality lipsticks on the beauty market today, so there is really no need for me to be a crazy lipstick lady in the high-end department. But every once in a while I like to treat myself to a high-end lipstick. What lipstick brand do you like to splurge on? :-)

Do you prefer drugstore or high-end lipsticks? Have you tried out any of the lipsticks above? What's your favorite drugstore/high-end lipstick? :-) Love, Christine♥

THE BODY SHOP OLIVE BODY BUTTER: REVIEW, PHOTOS & SWATCHES

The Body Shop Body Butter in Olive ($20.00 for 200ml/6.75oz.) is a rich and creamy body butter that melts straight in to the skin, leaving behind a soft and smooth feeling that last for hours. It contains Community Fair Trade organic olive oil and has a subtle fruity, neutral olive scent.
♥ The Body Shop Body Butter in Olive.

The Body Shop Body Butter in Olive has a nice, thick and buttery texture, which doesn't feel too greasy or oily on the skin. It absorbs quite quickly, leaving the skin feeling very smooth and soft afterwards. It's a great body butter if you are suffering from dry skin! :-)

♥ The Body Shop Body Butter in Olive.

The Body Shop Body Butter in Olive comes in a green tub with The Body Shop logo in the middle of the lid and a big photo of a bunch of olives hanging on a branch. There is a little information about the product as well as a list of ingredients on the back of the container.

The body butters from The Body Shop come in three different sizes, jumbo (13.5oz), regular (6.9oz) and travel (1.7oz). The jumbo sized body butter in Olive is limited edition, so I'm not sure when or where you might be able to get you're hands on it. I think it becomes available online every once in a while, but don't quote me on that. Definitely be sure to keep your eyes peeled! :-)

♥ The Body Shop Body Butter in Olive.

If you're not familiar with the body butters from The Body Shop but you are curious about trying them out, I highly recommend that you go for the travel size first. It's a great way to test out the product first, without committing to buying the full size product.

I have bought quite a few full sized products over the last couple of years that I had to throw away, because I never used them. That's just a waste of money in my opinion! Now, I always try to get my hands on a sample first, I guess you learn from you're mistakes huh? :-)

♥ The Body Shop Body Butter in Olive.

Overall, I really like the Olive Body Butter from The Body Shop. I think it's worth all the love and hype that it's been getting and I can definitely understand why it's one of their best selling body products.

I like that it keeps my skin soft and moisturized throughout the day. The scent is one of the reasons why I love this specific body butter so much. It's such a delightful, clean and very fresh scent which never gets old in my book. The Body Shop Body Butter in Olive is definitely a must have for me now that it's starting to get a lot colder outside! :-)

MAKEUP REVOLUTION SALVATION EYESHADOW PALETTE IN RUN BOY RUN: REVIEW, PHOTOS & SWATCHES

The Makeup Revolution Salvation Eyeshadow Palette in Run Boy Run (£6.00 for 13g.) is one of the six Salvation eyeshadow palettes from Makeup Revolution. Run Boy Run contains 18 brand new eyeshadows, 12 shimmery and 6 matte shades. Let's take a closer look at this palette! :-)

♥ Makeup Revolution Salvation Eyeshadow Palette in Run Boy Run.

The eyeshadows in the Run Boy Run palette are nice and smooth and they all feel very creamy and soft. I found them to be very easy to work with and easy to blend as well. They are nicely pigmented and they don't have too much fallout either.

Some eyeshadows in the palette are more pigmented than others. The matte shades in the palette aren't as pigmented as the shimmery shades, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. However, Head Start which is the black matte eyeshadow in the palette is very pigmented. It's the most pigmented eyeshadow on the matte row, so definitely be sure to be a little careful with this one.

♥ Makeup Revolution Salvation Eyeshadow Palette in Run Boy Run.

The Makeup Revolution Salvation Eyeshadow Palette in Run Boy Run comes in a black and sleek compact. When you open up the palette, there is a little plastic filter with the name of each eyeshadow in the palette. There is also a decent sized mirror and a sponge applicator in the palette, which is very useful and handy for travel. This is a great palette to travel with, because it gives you a lot off different options to play around with.

The palette feels very sturdy, it's nice and compact and it has a nice weight to it as well. There is a sticker on the back with the name of the palette too! :-)

♥ Trying To Catch You (Top), Running Is Victory (Middle) & Sun Will Be Guiding You (Bottom).

♥ Day Is A Phrophesy (Top), Another Day (Middle) & It's Time To Run (Bottom).

♥ World Is Not Meant For You (Top), Hide Behind Me (Middle) & Dying To Stop You (Bottom).

♥ Break Out Of Society (Top), Don't Have To Hide Away (Middle) & You Will Be My Boy (Bottom).

♥ Follow Me (Top), Head To The Hills (Middle) & Run Boy Run (Bottom).

♥ Girl On Fire (Top), You Are Finally Mine (Middle) & Head Start (Bottom).

Overall, Makeup Revolution's Run Boy Run Salvation Eyeshadow Palette is a lovely little palette filled with lots of beautiful shades. There isn't a single eyeshadow in this palette that I don't like, they are all gorgeous. I love that it has both matte and shimmery shades.

Whether you have been experiencing with makeup for a while or you are just starting out, this is a great palette that I think everyone can enjoy! :-)

NAILS OF THE DAY: ESSIE LADY LIKE & FLORAL NAIL ART STICKERS FROM BORN PRETTY STORE

I have been wanting to paint my nails for a while now, but I have been so busy painting our kitchen that I just haven't had the time to sit down and do it. Now that I'm all done with our kitchen, I got more time to play around with some of my nail polishes and nail art items.

My mom and I recently placed an order at Born Pretty Store. We picked up a bunch of really cool and fun nail art supplies. These pretty floral nail art stickers are a couple of the items that we ordered. I thought it would be fun to show you the design that I came up with, hope you like it! :-)

I think that these floral nail art stickers are so fun and quite unique. The design and the entire color scheme look beautiful together. I decided to pair the stickers with Essie's Lady Like, since I thought that it complimented the floral design beautifully. I added the nail stickers on both of my ring fingers, just to make it look a little more toned down and not so over the top.

I'm a huge fan of nail art stickers, they are so much fun to play around with. Born Pretty Store is my go-to website for everything that has to do with nail art. They have such a wide selection of designs to choose from and their prices are wonderful too. If you want me to start doing these nail art posts more often, please let me know in the comments down below and I will try to make it a more regular thing! :-)

What do you think about the design? Do you like to play around with nail art water decal stickers? :-) Love, Christine♥

MAC COSMETICS LIPSTICK COLLECTION

I have been seeing a lot of bloggers share their MAC Cosmetics lipstick collections, so I thought that I would show you my own little collection today. So without any further ado, let's take a look at my collection! :-)

 ♥ MAC Cosmetics Lipstick Collection.

I'm a huge fan of MAC Cosmetics and there is no denying that I love their lipsticks. I have accumulated quite a few lipsticks from them over the past few years. Some were purchased by myself, while other were gifted to me by family members and friends.

I'm very happy with my collection so far, but there are a couple of shades here that I don't really care for. Snob, Viva Glam Gaga and Saint Germain are three shades that I'm not the biggest fan of. I just don't like how they look on my lips, feel like they are way too light for me too. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I bought them to be completely honest with you! :-)

The lipsticks that have made it into my favorites and most loved lipsticks from MAC Cosmetics are Diva, Taupe, Play Time and Fabby. They are all wonderful and I think that they suit most skin tones too. There are many lipsticks from MAC that I want to try out. Rebel is definitely next on my wishlist, it looks like the perfect lipstick for Autumn. What do you think? Have you added Rebel to your lipstick collection yet? :-)

What are your thoughts about the lipsticks from MAC Cosmetics? Are you a fan? What shades are you currently lusting over? What type of collection post do you want to see next? :-) Love, Christine♥
